Innovation Project Title: Building Bridges: Connecting Genetics Teaching Laboratory Data to Classroom Analysis
Jelena Kraft is leading a project that bridges hands-on lab work with classroom learning in our genetics courses. By using actual human genetic data collected by students in the lab, this initiative allows genetics students to analyze pooled data from multiple semesters. Through assignments, they’ll explore complex genetics topics such as DNA sequence analysis, gene expression, and the inheritance of human genetic characteristics. This integration enhances their understanding by linking experimental lab results directly with theoretical concepts, fostering essential data analysis and problem-solving skills that will benefit their future studies and careers.
