Sadie Gravel

Sadie GravelSadie Gravel ('19 agricultural business) hails from Bernard, Iowa. Gravel chose to attend Iowa State University because it has the best Agricultural Business program in the nation. Before graduating last December, Gravel decided to continue growing her resume and skills through the Semester, Inc. internship program.

Gravel worked as the Farm Profitability Intern for ISU Extension and Outreach Farm, Food and Enterprise Development team. "I got involved with the program because I wanted a part-time job throughout the semester that would provide me with hands-on, knowledgeable, and applicable experience," she explains. Her role included developing curriculum for a new online training program where producers can enhance their sales from direct-to-consumer to direct-to-retail, wholesale, grocery and institutions. "My favorite memory from the internship was connecting with local producers and learning about their marketing experiences and practices," shared Gravel.

In addition to this internship, Gravel previously worked as a 101 intern with Landus Cooperative and as an Agronomy Sales intern for River Valley Cooperative. Since graduating, she has joined the Maquoketa State Bank team as a Trust Operations Specialist in Maquoketa, Iowa.
