Ag Innovation & Value Creation Competition (AIVCC)
This unique competition allows students to showcase their creative talent and entrepreneurial drive by challenging them to add value to an existing product or service in the agriculture industry.
Adding value to existing products is an essential part to the success of our agriculture industry. With this understanding, the goal of the Ag Innovation & Value Creation Competition is to encourage Iowa State CALS undergraduates to team together in order to create novel and valuable solutions to problems facing the agricultural, food and bioenergy sectors. And, of course, have fun and enjoy a little competition in the middle of the winter! Past products have included corn cobs, seed bags, optical light technology, plastic bale wrap, and smartphone app technology. Prizes in the form of monetary scholarships, sporting event tickets, and networking opportunities are given to top placing participating team.
Vermeer serves as this year's sponsor and will help unveil the challenge on January 17th at 5:30 p.m. in O127 Curtiss Hall. At the conclusion of the product unveiling, teams will have exactly one week to develop a solution and presentation to be pitched to a panel of judges on January 24that 5:00 p.m. in 0127 Curtiss Hall. Official rules and entry forms have been provided below. To submit your team's application or if you have any questions, please contact Amanda Blair at acblair@iastate.edu.
