Innovation Project Title: “The Marsh Monitors Network”
Through "The Marsh Monitors Network," Mike Rentz will create a network of wetlands and wetlands monitors. Each enrolled wetland will, at minimum, have their herp community surveyed twice each year by Iowa State students, community members working with Iowa State students or by experienced community members who have been previously trained by Iowa State students. Through hands-on studies and community building, Iowa State students and citizen science partners will deepen their connection to thhe land and water of the state while gaining skills and advancing our knowledge of the state of Iowa's ecosystems.
