Innovation Project Title: Integrating OER in AGRON 320 - Genetics, Agriculture, and Biotechnology

Most genetics textbooks lack relevant information for agriculture and are expensive for students. The goal is to create relevant agricultural genetics and biotechnology open educational resources (OER) for Iowa State University students. The OER allows for customization of the AGRON 320 course, taught by Walter Suza, combining the textbook, classroom lectures, and applied learning activities. These approaches will help students build their genetics foundation in the context of why these concepts matter for problem-solving in agriculture systems.
