For Lincoln Stover, a Senior majoring in Agricultural Business, agriculture has always been a part of his life, and that won’t be changing anytime soon. Four years ago, Stover and his friend Paul Murty launched MURST AG.
In the beginning, MURST AG focused on agricultural drone spraying. Since its start, the business has continued to grow, expanding its services to include drone spraying, seeding and mapping, as well as custom agricultural drone trailer builds.
MURST AG builds custom ag drone trailers designed around the needs of the applicator. Unlike mass-produced trailers built around a standard layout, each MURST AG trailer can be customized to fit the farmer and their operation.
When asked about the trailer build, Stover explained the design and technology behind MURST AG’s newest trailer:
“Our newest trailer features six 300-gallon cone tanks, allowing us to carry multiple chemical mixes, water, or a combination of both. An air-conditioned command center sits between two landing decks, allowing two drones to land and fill simultaneously for maximum efficiency.
Our electrical systems are designed by an electrician with four years of experience specializing specifically in drone trailers. We incorporate features such as VFD-controlled pumps for precise pressure regulation and reduced foaming, 480V three-phase charging for compatible drone systems, and custom PLC controls for automated trailer functions.
Our plumbing systems are also designed by an experienced chemical-plumbing specialist with four years of drone spraying and trailer-building experience. This allows us to create practical, simple systems without unnecessary complexity or cost.
Through MURST AG, nearly any trailer concept can be built. Our goal is simple: create an efficient, easy-to-operate drone trailer that helps applicators cover more acres with less workload.”
As the business continues to grow, Stover has learned that challenges are an important part of building a successful business.
“The more issues you have, the better off you’ll be in the future because you know how to overcome those things and you know what issues and how to get around them,” Stover said.
Looking ahead, Stover’s long-term vision for MURST AG extends beyond drone spraying and custom trailer builds. He hopes to sell chemicals and seed, continue working as a custom applicator and develop additional agricultural technology to help other drone applicators improve their operations.
